Portrait of Nikolai Fyodorov

Nikolai Fyodorov

1829-1903 · Russian Religious Thought · Known

Fyodorov read the Christian promise of resurrection as a work order. Every human being who ever died is to be brought back in the flesh, by scientific means, at the hands of their own descendants. He called this the common task, and wanted science aimed at governing nature and abolishing death instead of at war and industry. Russian Cosmism as a school of thought begins with him.
