Portrait of Félix Guattari

Félix Guattari

1930-1992 · Postmodernism · Prominent

Guattari was a French psychoanalyst and activist who spent his career at La Borde, an experimental clinic, and co-wrote Anti-Oedipus and A Thousand Plateaus with Deleuze. He broke with Lacan and the Freudian family drama and put schizoanalysis in its place. Desire gets produced the way a machine produces output, so the question is what yours hooks onto, never what it means underneath.
