bell hooks (Gloria Jean Watkins)
1952-2021 · Liberation · Renowned
bell hooks was a Black feminist and cultural critic who gave domination one name, white-supremacist capitalist patriarchy, to show racism, class and sexism working as a single interlocking system. Her answer was a love ethic: love as an act of will, something you choose and do rather than a feeling that arrives, and the ground of both personal healing and collective liberation.
